Greek agencies release footage of raid on drug ring sending pills to Islamic State jihadists (photos-videos)

The Greek financial crime unit (SDOE) released video footage and photos of Greek enforcement agencies raiding a compound in the area of Loutropyrgos, located 30km northwest of Athens, where they confiscated 635,000 amphetamine based pills planned to be shipped to Islamic State fighters in Syria and Iraq.

Drugs found in laboratory near Athens 'destined for Middle East'

Large quantities of the synthetic drug fenethylline which were found in a makeshift laboratory near Elefsina, west of Athens, last week, had been destined to be smuggled to the Middle East, it emerged on Monday.

Also known by its brand name, Captagon, the stimulant is believed to be widely used for recreational purposes in the Middle East and by fighters in Syria to keep them alert.

35 new reforms as part of the 3rd bailout program for Greece

Thirty five new reforms need to be locked in the framework of an agreement for the new Memorandum according to a draft bill brought to light by Greece’s daily Kathimerini.

The catalogue of draft legislation covered in 60 pages will need to be ratified by Greek Parliament in 24 hours. The same text includes another 23 measures that will need to be implemented by October.

Officers seeking another ton of heroin at second Koropi warehouse

In an ongoing bid to curb the operations of a huge drug trafficking racket, officers of the country's Financial Crimes Unit (SDOE) were on Friday working with Coast Guard officers in a bid to find an additional ton of heroin believed to be hidden in a warehouse in Koropi, eastern Athens, close to the warehouse where half a ton of the drug was found last week.
