Golden Dawn 'unwelcome' on Chios island, municipal council says
The entire Municipal Council of Chios and its mayor, Manolis Vournous, on Friday said that members of the far-right Golden Dawn party will be treated on the eastern Aegean island as "personae non gratae."
The municipal council convened to vote on its stance towards the neo-Nazi party ahead of an event Golden Dawn has planned next week to present its "solution" to the refugee crisis.

A historian who was viciously attacked by a gang of Golden Dawn members in the summer of 2008 testified on Friday at the ongoing trial on the criminal activities of the far-right party, telling judges that there were a lot of similarities between that assault and others of which the party stands accused.

Golden Dawn trial resumes after summer recess
Almost four years after the September 18, 2013, murder of rapper Pavlos Fyssas by a self-confessed member of Golden Dawn, the trial into the far-right party's alleged criminal activities resumed after the summer recess at a specially designed court in Korydallos Prison on Tuesday.

Greek Parliament passes 4th memorandum amid heated debate (153 for-128 against)
Following a long and heated debate in parliament, which saw major opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis exchange harsh accusations with Greek PM Alexis Tsipras, the plenum passed the 4th memorandum included in the omnibus bill with 153 votes for and 128 against, after a role call vote.

Tension was palpable on Friday on the eastern Aegean island of Chios after a group of men, reportedly members of Golden Dawn, launched an attack against refugees and migrants at the Souda camp late on Thursday.

New group claims attack on Golden Dawn office
An organization calling itself the Pavlos Fyssas Brigade has claimed responsibility for last week's sledgehammer attack on the Athens headquarters of Golden Dawn and has warned of more to come.
In a statement posted Thursday on an anti-establishment website, it accused the neo-Nazi party of being part of the establishment and of collusion with big business interests.

Justice minister denounces violence at Golden Dawn trial
In a statement on Wednesday, Justice Minister Stavros Kontonis appeared to question the police in connection to the clashes on Tuesday at the trial of Golden Dawn members accused of being involved in the murder of rapper Pavlos Fyssas.
Fights broke out between Golden Dawn supporters and anarchists in the courtroom.

According to a Metron Analysis poll aired on Ant-1 TV’s nightly news bulletin, major opposition party New Democracy (ND) leads ruling SYRIZA party by 10.2%. This is the third poll in a row that shows ND have a double digit lead against SYRIZA in the space of one week.
