Greek National Opera Ballet

The Greek National Opera Ballet (364 Syngrou) opens its season with a revival of "Don Quixote" by Ludwig Minkus, reimagined by Brazilian-German choreographer Thiago Bordin. This fresh interpretation, infused with traditional Spanish dance, revitalizes Marius Petipa's original choreography, set to Minkus' lively score.

Greek National Opera Ballet director Constantinos Rigos takes a fresh approach to Tchaikovsky's all-time classic "Swan Lake" in a brand-new version in which the pioneering choreographer moves the action to a post-apocalyptic world where the characters are environmental refugees.

Acclaimed choreographer Constantinos Rigos, who was also recently appointed director of the Greek National Opera Ballet, joins the roster of the Greek Festival directing "Pornstar - The Invisible Sex Industry" by Elena Penga, a playwright he has worked with in the past.

Italian choreographer and artistic director Renato Zanella directs the Greek National Opera Ballet in a children's version of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker," with fairy-tale sets by Christof Cremer from the Vienna State Opera.
