Pioneering Greek architect Alexandros Tombazis dies, aged 85
Architect Alexandros Tombazis, one of the country's greats and a pioneer of bioclimatic design, has died at the age of 85, it was reported on Monday.

Casa do Brasil, the Brazilian Embassy's cultural center in Athens, presents "The Poetics of Oscar Niemeyer's Architecture," an exhibition of works by Slovenian photographer Danica O. Kus. Organized in partnership with the Embassy of Slovenia and the Hellenic Institute of Architecture, the show pays tribute to one of the most acclaimed architects of the previous century.

Reflections on the US Embassy
I recently attended a lecture at the Hellenic Institute of Architecture by Alexandros K. Samaras, an architect and longtime chairman of the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation's Board of Directors, on Walter Gropius and his mid-1950s design for the US Embassy in Athens.
