Konstantinos Floros, independent lawmaker - formerly with far-right Spartiates (Spartans) party - was detained on Wednesday following a physical attack against another lawmaker in Parliament, during a debate over a defamation lawsuit.

9 held over fatal building collapse in Piraeus
Nine individuals have been apprehended, three of whom are hospitalized, in connection with Tuesday's fatal collapse of a two-story building along the Akti Moutsopoulou seafront road in Pasalimani, Piraeus.
A 31-year-old off-duty special guard of the Hellenic Police (ELAS), who was participating in the construction work, lost his life in the incident.

Rift among police over ‘golden boys’

Final respects paid to woman slain outside police station
The funeral of the Kyriaki Griva, 28, who was murdered by her former partner outside Agioi Anargyroi police station in northern Athens on Monday night was held on Thursday in a climate of deep anguish and anger in the Church of Agios Nektarios in Ano Liosia.
