Rise in Greek airport arrivals buoys hopes for 18.5 mln tourists this year
The Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE) said on Monday that it is confident Greece will meet its target of attracting 18.5 million visitors, generating 13 billion euros in revenues, this year.

ELSTAT responds to claims of unreliable statistics
In response to recent reports in the media claiming that unreliable statistics were published by the Hellenic Statistical Authority, ELSTAT and Eurostat, regarding Greeces annual fiscal figures for 2013 as these showed surpluses in social security funds and local government, the former sought to clarify matters in a statement released on Wednesday.

Strong card in debt talks
Achieving a primary surplus and having it confirmed by the European statistical agency, Eurostat, is a significant success for Greece.
There is no doubt that it came at a heavy price for a large part of the population, especially those who bore the brunt of a succession of new and hefty taxes, but it is nevertheless a watershed moment that marks a new era for the country.
