Liviu Pop: ILO could have foremost role if involved in political support

The role of the International Labour Organization (ILO) could be foremost if it became the core of political support and technical assistance that can be granted to member states, Minister Delegate for Social Dialogue Liviu Pop said on Monday, in the 323rd Session of the ILO Governing Body, taking place in Geneva.

Syrian refugees swell ranks of Lebanon street children

Syrian refugees make up the majority of children living and working on the streets of Lebanon, with many of them illiterate and surviving by begging, a study released Feb. 16 said.
      
The survey of 18 areas in Lebanon identified more than 1,500 children living and working on the street, although its authors said the real number nationwide could be three times higher.

Labour minister discusses labour law with IMF mission

Ethical principles important in combating human trafficking

VIENNA - Serbian State Secretary in the Ministry of Interior Affairs Aleksandar Nikolic stated during the OSCE conference in Vienna on Tuesday that ethical principles are important in the fight against human trafficking.

The efforts in the prevention and countering human trafficking often entail complex ethical dilemmas, Nikolic said in the opening statement.

Mihajlovic: Introducing order in road maintenance companies

BELGRADE - The adoption of the draft law to ratify the International Labour Organisation's Convention concerning Labour Clauses in Public Contracts will introduce order into road maintenance companies, primarily in terms of employee safety, Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said on Tuesday.
