BELGRADE - Turkey's President Erdogan has accused the US of supplying arms to Kurds fighting against Islamic State in Syria. Erdogan equated the Kurdish forces with IS militants, and referred to previous cases when American weapons were seized by Islamists.

Six soldiers have been killed and a soldier was heavily wounded in an attack by suspected fighters of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PPK) in Turkey's province of Diyarbakir on Thursday.

The car bomb attack in Turkish capital Ankara, which left at least 28 people dead on Wednesday, was committed by outlawed PKK group and people with links to the "Kurdish militia" in Syria, the country's Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said.

At least nine people suspected of being linked to the attack have been apprehended.

Turkey, Saudi Arabia and some European allies want ground troops deployed in Syria but there is no consensus in the coalition and a strategy for such an operation has not been seriously debated, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu said. 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and Saudi Arabian King Salman spoke by phone late on Feb. 16, with both describing attacks by Russia and Syrian government forces north of Aleppo as "worrisome," sources at Erdo?an's office said. 

Russia said on Feb. 15 that Turkey's shelling of Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party(PYD) and Syrian regime positions in the north of the country was a "provocative" action.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has claimed responsibility for triple bombings in northern Syria that killed at least 26 people.

ISIL said in a statement posted online that the attacks in the predominantly Kurdish province of Hassakeh's town of Tal Tamr targeted offices of the main Kurdish militia known as YPG, the Associated Press reported.

New Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held his first formal meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama on Nov. 19 and insisted on withdrawing its fighter jets fighting against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). 

The government apparently isn't satisfied with ongoing conflict in the country and seems to be eager to declare war against the Syrian Kurdish region, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirta? has said.

Turkey has warned the United States and Russia it will not tolerate Kurdish territorial gains by Kurdish militia close to its frontiers in north-western Syria, two senior officials said.
