UN organizes donation campaign for cultural heritage in quake-zone
The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has launched a global donation campaign for the restoration of cultural assets damaged in the Feb. 6 earthquakes.
With a total of 352 out of 8,444 historic buildings in 11 provinces in the earthquake zone damaged or destroyed, the UNDP campaign focuses on buildings such as Hatay Archaeology Museum, Gaziantep Castle and Sarımiye Mosque.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, the "Türkiye's Treasures" digital collection is available online on the Google Arts & Culture Platform.
Ministry starts the research on Pasha Gate Inscription
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has started research on the lost inscription of the Pasha Gate of Edirne Governorship Building, built by Edirne Governor Ali Celal Pasha in 1818.
Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated archival research has been started to search on when, by whom or how the inscription was displaced.
‘Traces of Scent’ opens at Şanlıurfa Museum
With the cooperation of the Şanlıurfa Archeology Museum and Fragrance Culture Association, the "Mesopotamia in the Traces of Scent" exhibition has been opened as a result of a three-year study, contributed by academics and archaeologists.

Mummified skeletons found in Turkey’s west
Mummified skeletons have been unearthed from recently discovered sarcophaguses (stone coffins) in Hisardere necropolis (cemetery), Iznik district of Turkey's Bursa province.
Excavation is being carried out by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism under the supervision of Aygün Ekin Meriç, an academic at the Archeology Department of İzmir's Dokuz Eylül University.

Nearly 5,000 cultural assets returned to Turkey in last 18 years
A total of 4,862 cultural assets were returned to Turkey between 2003 and 2021, according to data given by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Authorities continue to work in coordination with relevant institutions in order to prevent cultural property smuggling and bring back Turkish origin artifacts found abroad.

Turkey, Kosovo sign cinematographic cooperation deal
Turkey and Kosovo signed an intergovernmental cinematographic cooperation agreement on Dec. 3 in the Turkish capital Ankara.
The agreement was signed by Turkey's Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and his Kosovar counterpart Vlora Dumoshi at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism building.
