Education sector unions continue strike
BELGRADE -- Education sector workers in Serbia have been striking since Monday by cutting classes to 30 from 45 minutes.
This has been taking place in those schools where four trade unions have their representatives, Jasna Janković of the Association of Trade Unions of Education Workers told Tanjug on Monday.

Funding for science inadequate, 12,500 researchers in Serbia
BELGRADE - About 0.34 percent of Serbia's budget was set aside for science this year, which is not enough, and the amount should increase significantly in the coming year, said participants in Tuesday's debate at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) on the status and prospects for science in Serbia.

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Faculties of the University of Pristina (PU) with the temporary seat in Kosovska Mitrovica enrolled 1,264 new students in the academic year 2014/2015 out of the planned 1,776, which is the quota set by the Ministry of Education.

Montenegro Albanians Protest Over Textbooks
Ethnic Albanian parties in Montenegro protested on Tuesday against the "inadequate curriculum" their children are offered in schools in Montenegro.
They said that teaching programs in schools are not adapted to the needs of the community as the textbooks are only translations into Albanian of books written in the Montenegrin language.

64 Thousand First Graders to Start School on September 15
Some 64,000 Bulgarian children will go to school for the first time on Monday, September 15.
The cost for preparing a child for school ranges between BGN 150 and BGN 250 this year, Nova TV notes.
