New Caretaker Government Extends Deadline of C
Bulgaria's caretaker cabinet has extended the deadline of the electronic census until the end of September. So far, 1 million people have already taken part in it. According to Sergei Tsvetarski, head of the National Statistical Institute, technical difficulties at the beginning of the campaign were not caused by the big number of participants, but by a malicious attack.

Hackers Meddle with Bulgaria's Online Population Census
Continuous hacker attacks have managed to block the online population census in Bulgaria, which began on Tuesday. On the third day, the system was down due to another large-scale denial-of-service (DoS) attack.
NSI Temporarily Suspends Census 2021 Service
In the coming hours, access to the electronic system "Census 2021" and all systems and websites of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) will be difficult or impossible. This is due to a series of "Denial of Service" attacks with malicious attack traffic of over 250 gigabits per second, announced the NSI.

Hacker Attack Puts on Hold Population Census in Bulgaria
At the very start of the electronic population census in Bulgaria the e-census website was the target of a hacker attack.
Official Census in Bulgaria starts off Today at Midnight
From midnight begins the official census of the population of Bulgaria. It will last until October and will take place in two stages - electronically and with a visit by tellers. They will visit homes from 18 September to 3 October from 8 am to 8 pm. The national census will take place from 0.00 am on 7 September 2021 and will be completed at 20.00 on 3 October 2021.
National Census in Bulgaria Starts on September 7
On September 7, the national census in Bulgaria begins, which is done every 10 years.
In the first stage, households will be able to fill in the questionnaire online. It takes between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on whether it's one person or several people in the household, Sergei Tsvetarski, chairman of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), told "This Morning".

Bulgaria's economic growth in the second quarter of 2021 is unusually strong - 9.6% on an annual basis, according to the express estimates of the National Statistical Institute (NSI). However, this is not a surprise given the drastic decline in GDP during the crisis in April and May last year.
Bulgarian Export to EU Increased by 23 percent
In January-May 2021, Bulgarian export to the EU increased by 23/4 per cent from this time last year, reaching a total of 17,616.9 million leva, according to snap statistics by the National Statistical Institute released Thursday. In May alone, the export to the EU increased by over a third, 31.4 per cent, from this time last year, to a total of 3,363.2 million leva.
