Bulgaria's Total Exports Increase by 19%, Imports by 23%
In the period January - May 2021, goods worth a total of BGN 26,355.3m were exported from Bulgaria, which is 19.4% more than in the same period of 2020, according to preliminary data from the National Statistical Institute. In May 2021 the total exports of goods amounted to BGN 5,084.7m and increased by 32.3% compared to the same month of the previous year.
National Statistical Institute Reports 2.5-Percent Economic Growth in Bulgaria
Bulgaria's economy grew by 2.5 per cent in the first quarter of the year, according to preliminary data announced by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) on June 8. The figure was in line with NSI's flash estimate released last month.
Over 270,000 Bulgarians Traveled Abroad in April
The trips of Bulgarian citizens abroad increased in April for the second consecutive month, after March in which for the first time in a year there was an increase.
In April, in the conditions of the continuing epidemic situation, the trips of Bulgarians abroad are 271 thousand, the data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) showed.

Bulgarian Economy Shows Upward Development Trend – 2,5 Percent Growth in Q1 2021
Bulgaria's economy grew by 2.5 per cent in the first quarter of 2021, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a flash estimate on May 18. In real terms, gross domestic product (GDP) in Bulgaria in January-March was 26.44 billion leva, or 13.52 billion euro.

Bulgarians’ Life Expectancy Is 74,6 Years – National Statistical Institute
In the period 2018 - 2020, life expectancy at birth of the Bulgarian population was 74.6 years, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on May 11.
This is a decrease of 0.3 years compared with the 2017 - 2019 period, the NSI said.
For men, life expectancy at birth is 71.1 years and for women, 78.2 years.
NSI Poll: Business Climate in Bulgaria Shows Slight Improvement
A regular monthly poll by the National Statistical Institute has found that managers saw the business climate in Bulgaria in April largely unchanged compared with March.
The monthly polls earlier this year had seen slight improvements in the business climate in Bulgaria, after the indicator plunged in the first half of 2020 against the background of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Every Third Bulgarian Lives Below Poverty Line - National Statistical Institute
In 2020, the poverty line for the country in total is BGN 451.00 monthly per household member. At this level, below the poverty line were 1,659,900 people, or 23.8 percent of the Bulgarian population, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) reported, quoted by Nova TV.
Bulgaria: Plovdiv Is Most-Preferred Destination for Internal Migration
Of the close to 200 000 people in Bulgaria who changed address within the country in 2020, more than 21,000 chose Plovdiv district as their new place of residence, the municipality said on its website on April 19, citing National Statistical Institute (NSI) data.
This makes the Plovdiv district Bulgaria's most-preferred destination for internal migration.
