Russia's Sculpture Donation Sparks Derision in Romania
Critics of Moscow's 100 euro donation called a protest on Tuesday afternoon in front of Russian Embassy in Bucharest, claiming that the gesture was offensive.
"We considered ourselves offended, so we invite you to return the baksheesh in one cent coins," the organisers said in a statement on Facebook.
The statement accused Russia of owing Romania "several dozen tons of gold".

“Albanians of .. Cameria” was the latest irredentist “pipedream” heard in the increasingly tense western Balkans this week, uttered by none other than an Albanian lawmaker who assumed a vice-speaker’s position in that country’s Parliament.
The phrase belongs to one Shpëtim Idrizi, listed as the president of the small nationalist Party for Justice, Integration and Unity.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US State Secretary John Kerry laid wreaths and exchanged gifts during their meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting between the Russian and US delegations in Sochi lasted for four hours, TASS news agency reports.

BELGRADE -- Serbia's WW2 veterans have been decorated with the jubilee medals of the Russian Federation on the occasion of 70 years of victory over fascism.
The medals have been presented by Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandr Chepurin in the name of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

May 8: Victory in Europe
Seventy years. It’s been this long since May 8th, 1945, when the Red Army closed in from the east, struck in the heart of Nazi Germany, Berlin, and raised the Red Army flag, signaling the fall of European fascism.
It had taken more than 6 years for the war to end, since the Nazis started annexing and invading lands, following a madman’s nightmarish dream.

Poland Denies Entry of Russian Night Wolves Bikers
Poland denied entry of ten Russian Night Wolves bikers, who are traveling from Moscow to Berlin to commemorate the 70thanniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany.
A spokesman for the Polish border guards stated that the bikers would not be allowed to pass through Polish territory as they did not fulfill the conditions for entry, TASS news agency reports.
