Road fatalities down significantly last year
A total of 86 people were killed in traffic accidents on Slovenian roads in 2022, which is 28 fewer than in 2021. Still, the number of accidents topped 18,000, which is about 1,100 more than the year before, show data from the General Police Administration.

Ljubljana – Electric scooters are becoming increasingly popular as a mode of urban transportation, but accelerated uptake has resulted in a rise in accidents. Last year there were 109 accidents involving e-scooters, more than two-thirds caused by riders themselves, police data show.

BELGRADE -- The police in Serbia have stepped up checks and are fining drivers whose passengers traveling in the rear seat are found not to be using a seat belt.
Director of the Traffic Safety Agency Krsto Lipovac told the RTS broadcaster that a campaign to this end will be ongoing during the next week.
