Turkish embassy in Paris

Turkey has appointed Ambassador Ali Onaner as its envoy to Paris, who was one of the classmates of French President Emmanuel Macron at the Ecole National d'Administration (ENA), also known as the National School of Administration, in Paris in the early 2000s, daily Hürriyet reported and printed a picture depicting the two together from their school days.

Turkish Embassy in Paris on March 16 condemned recent arson attacks on three vehicles and a cafe belonging to Turkish citizens in the French capital and Marseille. 

A number of protests were held in major European cities over the weekend following the arrest of nine deputies of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) over terror charges on Nov. 4, while some Turkish diplomatic missions faced attacks. 

A dinner at the residence of the Turkish Embassy in Paris on Feb. 3 was a good opportunity for Turkish European Union Affairs Minister Volkan Bozk?r since French EU Affairs Minister Harlem Desir as well as key French business people were also there.

The Turkish prime minister says Turkey?s EU membership would ease the inter-cultural tensions currently threatening Europe, adding he expects the same reaction shown for the Paris terrorist attacks to be shown against Islamophobic attacks.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu on Jan. 11 hailed the unprecedented rally against terror in Paris as a "strong message to the world," while adding that he would expect a similar reaction to attacks on Muslims and Islamophobia.
