Annual inflation climbs to 67 percent last month
Türkiye's annual inflation rate accelerated from 64.86 percent in January to 67 percent in February, but the pace of monthly inflation increase slowed, the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) have shown.
Consumer prices advanced 4.53 percent month-on-month, down from 6.7 percent in January.

Turkish economy grew 4.5 percent last year
The Turkish economy grew by 4.5 percent last year after expanding 5.5 percent in 2022, the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) have shown, slightly exceeding the government's forecast.
In the medium-term program, the government had predicted a growth rate of 4.4 percent for 2023.

Treasury squeezes tenants to claim rental taxes

Unemployment rate ticks down to 8.8 percent
Türkiye's unemployment rate declined slightly from 8.9 percent in November to 8.8 percent in December 2023, the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) have shown.
The number of jobless people fell by 12,000 from November to stand at 3 million in December.
The unemployment rate among men was 7.1 percent, while it was 12 percent among women, TÜİK said.
