Martinovic thanks Brazil for abstaining in UNGA vote

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Aleksandar Martinovic received Brazilian Ambassador to Belgrade Jose Mauro Couto on Tuesday, thanking the government and the friendly people of Brazil for the country's abstention in a vote on a UN General Assembly resolution on Srebrenica.

Electoral roll up to date, ghost voter claims untrue - ministry

BELGRADE - In an official statement, Serbia's Ministry of Public Administration and Self-Government on Monday reiterated "clearly and unequivocally" that the Unified Electoral Roll was one of the most up-to-date records in the Republic of Serbia and more orderly than ever, and noted that claims about the existence of ghost voters were absolutely untrue and represented blanket allegations.

"It is inadmissible to expose our citizens to a health risk. A gathering of 5.790 SNS supporters and about 64 supporters of the "Dveri" movement is being held about a hundred meters from here," he said, emphasizing that he did not state that in order to brag.
He said that we do not need counting, but unity.

Amendments adopted: Census three per cent, 40 per cent of women on the election lists

This was decided today by the Serbian Parliament.
Deputies voted for amendments to the law on the election of MPs and local elections, submitted by the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) parliamentary group, which, among other things, provide for a reduction in census.

Accompanied by MP Ivan Kostic, Obradovic entered the hall during the session, with a large banner against the Montenegrin authorities, and stood by the speaker's stand, causing disturbance that followed. Then, the President of the Serbian Assembly Maja Gojkovic adjourned the session and called on the MPs and security for peace and to remain calm.
