Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister Gabriel Oprea on Tuesday said that the People's Republic of China has Romania's respect and friendship and voiced the conviction that the mandate of the new Chinese Ambassador in Bucharest, Xu Feihong, will further strengthen the friendship relation between the two states.

President Klaus Iohannis has labeled the beheading by IS-affiliated terrorists of Egyptian Christians in Libya as an act of unspeakable cruelty and barbarity, pointing out that these atrocities show there is urgent need of a political solution to this conflict in this country, and also to show zero tolerance towards such terrorist groups.

President Klaus Iohannis strongly condemns the terrorist attacks in Copenhagen on Saturday night and underlines Romania's support for the fight against terrorism, a press release by the Presidential Administration reads on Sunday.

This is the first time when Iohannis participates in a meeting of the EU heads of state or government.

The need for a bankruptcy law in Romania regarding individuals has become obvious, but it should be a good law that will provide more benefits than losses and that is focused on negotiations between debtors and creditors outside the court because court trials are slow and costly, Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) Bogdan Olteanu told a specialist conference on Thursday.

The tools of cyberwar can be used for political aims as well, head of the Special Telecommunications Service (STS) Marcel Opris said Thursday, adding that such an episode occurred during the 2014 presidential campaign.
