Hundreds of tourists arrive in the winter capital of the Balkans - Bansko to watch the Snowboard World Cup live. Hotels in Bulgaria's ski resort were booked almost three months before the race. Packages vary between 120 and 140 BGN per day, including bed and breakfast and dinner.

At least 19 athletes will be included in the Bulgarian delegation at the XXIII Winter Olympics in PyongChang '18 (9-25 February). The composition was endorsed by the General Assembly of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, and it could additionally include athletes who eventually manage to meet the norm by the end of the month.

Star tennis player Grigor Dimitrov has won the award Bulgarian Sportsperson of the Year for 2014.

In 2014, Dimitrov made it into the top 10 of ATP, reaching place 8, and won three titles, getting to the ½-finals of Wimbledon and the ¼-finals of Australian Open, according to reports of Sega daily. He currently holds 11th place in the ATP ranking.

Bulgaria’s Alexandra Zhekova finished 3rd in the final standings of the snowboard cross World Cup.

Zhekova finished 5th during Saturday’s final race at La Molina, Spain. However, “Sani” was able to move ahead of Russia’s injured Eva Samkova in the final standings.
