Flamenco on Istanbul stage

A show adapted for the stage from Miguel de Cervantes' immortal piece "Don Quixote" will meet with the audience on Oct. 16 at Istanbul's Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall with the performance by Spanish José Huertas Flamenco Ensemble.

Describing Don Quixote's emotional world with music and costumes reflecting Spanish folklore, the show will be staged for the first time in Turkey.

Gades & Saura’s ‘Carmen’ | February 5-8

Hailed as one of the hottest flamenco shows in the world right now, "Carmen" by Antonio Gades and Carlos Saura is being brought to computer screens by the Christmas Theater on February 5-8. The flamenco version of the dramatic story is based on the world-famous late 19th century opera of the same title by George Bizet and on the original inspiration, the novella by Prosper Mérimée.

The Spanish Antonio Gades Group will be on the Istanbul stage with the show "Carmen."

Antonio Gades became a legend all over the world with his works extending from the dance adaptation of Prosper Merimee's "Carmen" to the famous "Bloody Wedding" by Federico García Lorca. He keeps his legacy with a foundation he founded shortly before he died in 2004.
