President-elect of Romania Klaus Iohannis took the presidential oath of office on Sunday, during a ceremony before the plenary session of the Senate and the Deputies Chamber.

The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) on Friday unanimously confirmed the results of the recent presidential elections and validated the election of Klaus Iohannis as Romania's President, CCR president Augustin Zegrean announced.

The Constitutional Court of Romania certified on Friday the first round of the presidential elections from Nov. 2 and established that standing in the runoff will be Social Democrat Prime Minister Victor Ponta and Liberal leader Klaus Iohannis.

The second round of voting will be held on Nov. 16, the Court announced.

The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) on Sunday evening rejected two notifications filed against the presidential candidacy of Social Democratic Party (PSD) leader and Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
