The European Commission has called on the European Parliament and the European Council to allocate 700 million euros for humanitarian aid for refugees in 2016-2018, Commissioner Christos Stylianides in charge of Humanitarian Aid and Crisis said on Wednesday.

Two top executives of the European Union are scheduled to hold talks with Turkish leaders in the capital city of Ankara, as European governments are feeling overwhelmed with the numbers of Europe-bound migrants escaping war and poverty in Syria, Afghanistan and elsewhere.
