Double bassist, composer and orchestrator Curtis Lundy is set to grace the Half Note Jazz Club (halfnote.gr) with his quartet for four nights, from February 9 to 12. Emerging from the golden era of straight-ahead and hard-bop jazz, Lundy stands as one of the most iconic and sought-after musicians on the contemporary jazz scene, known for his robust yet profoundly lyrical playing style.

A tribute to the contemporary Greek jazz scene, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center's Jazz Chronicles is a series of concerts that reflects the diversity of the genre. On Saturday, September 9, the program presents American saxophonist Craig Handy and his Greek counterpart, Yannis Kassetas, both counting five albums under the belts so far.

The Half Note Jazz Club in Athens is hosting saxophone soloist Craig Handy and pianist Kirk Lightsey and their band in a series of tribute performances to tenor sax legend Dexter Gordon. Performances run through Monday, October 24. Shows start at 10.30 p.m on Saturday, October 22, and at 9.30 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, and Monday, October 24. Admission ranges from 20 to 30 euros.
