Bulgaria's PM, Govt Delegation to Visit Qatar May 16-18

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and a government delegation headed by him will pay an official visit to Qatar in the period May 16-18.

On Sunday Borisov will hold meetings with the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior for the State of Qatar Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Thani and Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Deputy Emir of the State of Qatar.

Bulgaria's Agriculture Minister Plans Restructuring, Closure of Agencies

Bulgarian Agriculture Minister Desislava Taneva announced on Thursday that there were plans for restructuring and closure of agencies, which were under the authority of the ministry.

Taneva revealed that apart from the lay-offs and the optimisation of personnel, which were ongoing in the ministry at present, certain bills will be presented for general discussion in a week.

Agriculture Ministry, Tobacco Producers Agree on Distribution of BGN 107 M in Top-up Payments

After nine hours of debates between senior officials of Bulgaria's Agriculture Ministry and representatives of organizations of producers of different brands of tobacco, agreement was reached on the distribution of a total of BGN 107 M earmarked for top-up payments in the sector.

Bulgaria's Govt Approved Revised 2014-2020 Rural Development Program worth EUR 2.9 B

The Bulgarian government has approved a revised version of the Rural Development Program 2014-2020 envisaging a total budget of over EUR 2.9 B, including a total of EUR 2.3 B to be provided by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

The budget of the 2014-2020 Rural Development Program is to be allocated to 18 measures.

Over BGN 122 M in Funding Provided for Bulgarian Stock Breeders

The Ministry of Agriculture and Foods is set on providing more funds for stock breeders, without requirements on the number of animals or what their kind should be, as announced in a press release on Tuesday.
