Mogherini stresses significance of dialogue

PRISTINA - EU foreign policy and security chief Federica Mogherini on Thursday congratulated Kosovo on the European Commission's proposal to lift visa requirements for travellers from Kosovo and stressed the significance of Pristina's dialogue with Belgrade.

The visa liberalisation will have a positive impact on everyday life as well as politics, she said in Pristina.

EC proposes lifting visa requirements for citizens of Kosovo

BRUSSELS - The European Commission (EC) on Wednesday proposed that the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament lift visa requirements for citizens of Kosovo for short stays in the Schengen area.

The Commission also presented a positive assessment "confirming that Kosovo has fulfilled the requirements of its visa liberalisation roadmap," an EC statement said.
