50 Turkish athletes book spot at Tokyo Olympics
A total of 50 Turkish athletes have so far qualified to represent their country in nine events at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
Many more Turkish athletes in various disciplines are still vying to qualify for the 32nd Summer Olympics, to be held in Japan's capital from July 24 to Aug. 9.

Turkish athlete Eda Tuğsuz will be aiming for another career milestone on Aug. 8 in the women's javelin event at the World Athletics Championships in London.
Tuğsuz, 20, made the final with a throw of 63.87 meters in the qualifications on Aug. 6, beating the mark of 63.50 meters for automatic qualification.

Turkey is hoping to win medals with a 27-member team at the World Athletics Championships, but the main target is to increase the number of athletes getting through to the finals, the country's federation president has said.
