Court rules for continuation of arrest of HDP co-chair Demirtaş

A court in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır ruled for the continuation of the arrest of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş on April 5. 

The Diyarbakır Eighth Heavy Penal Court ruled for Demirtaş to remain in jail, where he is held on several charges including "managing a terrorist organization."

Opposition HDP lawmaker İdris Baluken detained in Ankara

People's Democratic Party (HDP) lawmaker İdris Baluken was detained again following an appeal against his release in a case filed as part of a terror investigation on Feb. 21, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported. 

The court in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır on Feb. 17 had issued an arrest warrant for HDP Diyarbakır deputy Baluken.

HDP co-leader faces jail over 'insulting' President Erdoğan

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-leader Figen Yüksekdağ is facing a prison sentence of up to five years on charges of insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a judicial source said Feb. 10.        

A court accepted an indictment prepared by the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office demanded a prison term for Yüksekdağ ranging from one to five years.
