Turkish vice president meets Turkish Cypriot prime minister

The Turkish vice president on June 23 said Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) should work toward building a self-sufficient TRNC.

Fuat Oktay spoke at a joint press conference with TRNC Prime Minister Ersan Saner following their meeting at the presidential complex in capital Ankara.

Authorities are concerned about growing vaccine hesitancy among people who have refused to get vaccinated even though their turn has come.

Turkey's president on May 22 spoke virtually at the opening ceremony of an irrigation tunnel to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), commenting on the Cyprus issue.

"If there are to be new talks on Cyprus, these should no longer bebetween the two communities, but between the two states," Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said via live video link to the site of the event in the TRNC."

Turkey urges world to prevent Israeli aggression from escalating

Turkey's presidential spokesperson urged the international community early on May 14 to prevent the escalation of Israel's aggression against the Palestinian people. 

İbrahim Kalın said on Twitter that Israel's attacks on the Palestinian community "are against international law and basic morality" and "must come to an immediate end."
