Hello, today I want to focus on two books from which I managed to read excerpts and found quite interesting. The first is the memoir of Merkel, including everything she says about us—Greece. During her tenure, we went back and forth—figuratively and literally—within and outside of Europe, and endured the hardships of the bailout programs. I read the Greek excerpts with great attention.

Drapetsona a step closer to getting a park

The Attica Regional Council has expropriated a 20-hectare plot belonging to the National Bank of Greece, paving the way for Piraeus' Drapetsona suburb to get its first proper park.
Along with several parcels of land already owned by the municipality, the new plot is seen as the necessary addition to launch an ambitious overhaul of an area that once housed a waste treatment plant.

Salamina oil spill spreads to Piraeus. Fears of great ecological disaster (videos-photos)

The oil slik caused near the island of Salamina on Sunday when crude oil tanker “Agia Zoni II” sank has spread to the port of Piraeus. The pollution reached the region of Frettyda, a residential area in Piraeus located in the southeastern part of the city near the Zea harbour.
