'Democracy will not be terrorized,' says Athens mayor in wake of Skai TV bomb attack
Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis on Monday condemned a bomb attack on the headquarters of Skai TV and radio, Kathimerini daily and Kathimerini English Edition, among other businesses, on the Greek capital's southern coast.
Kaminis described the early-morning attack, which caused extensive structural damage to the building but no casualties, as "despicable."

Christmas tree lights in Athens to switch on next week
The lights on the Christmas tree in Syntagma Square, central Athens, will be switched on next Tuesday night as part of festivities in the capital that are to last well into January 2019.
"More than 230 events, which will be completely free of charge, will transform the center of Athens and its neighborhoods into a city of angels," said Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis.

Athens mayor verbally abused in restaurant
Athens mayor Giorgos Kaminis was verbally abused while dining with friends at a restaurant in Kesariani, central Athens, on Wednesday night.
According to information, a group of about 10 anti-establishment youths saw Kaminis at the restaurant and started shouting at him.
It is not clear what the attackers told the mayor.
