Turkish defense giant to use own software for meetings

Turkish defense giant Aselsan has developed its own video conferencing software for internal communications.

The software, called XperMeet, will meet the company's security needs with its end-to-end encipherment and SSL certificate.

XperMeet offers the ability to host meetings, training and organizing panels and webinars as well as voice calls and messaging.

A Belgian court sentenced on Feb. 20 outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) militant Fehriye Erdal to 15 years in jail and deprived her of civil and political rights for 10 years in absentia for crimes committed in Turkey, including being an accomplice in the 1996 assassination of the former head of the industrial conglomerate Sabancı Holding.

Belgium seeks 30 years in prison for DHKP-C member over crimes committed in Turkey

A Belgian prosecutor on Dec. 5 sought a 30-year jail term in absentia for an outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) member being tried for crimes committed in Turkey and for being an accomplice in the 1996 assassination of the former head of Sabancı Holding, one of Turkey's top family-owned industrial conglomerates.
