Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has submitted his letter of resignation, as confirmed by Ruslan Stefanchuk, the speaker of Ukraine's parliament, on Sept. 4. Stefanchuk mentioned that Kuleba's resignation will be "considered at one of the upcoming plenary meetings," though he did not specify a date.

A new Russian airstrike targeted Kyiv overnight, as Ukraine continues to report ongoing assaults in the Donbas region. Despite these attacks, Ukrainian forces have reportedly made advances, capturing several more settlements in the Kursk region. Meanwhile, the Russian offensive remains focused on approaching the key city of Pokrovsk.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Wednesday that Ukrainian troops had pushed 1-2 kilometers further into Russia's Kursk region, where conflict has persisted for the past two weeks. Zelensky shared the update via Telegram, noting advancements in multiple areas and the capture of over 100 Russian prisoners of war.

Ukrainian defenders of a steel plant in Mariupol say Russian forces have started to storm the last pocket of resistance.

The move comes almost two weeks after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his military not to storm the plant, but rather block it off.

This was stated by the head of the Russian Center for National Defense Management, Mikhail Mezentsev.
He said that Russia guarantees life and medical assistance to all those who stop hostilities and lay down their arms on April 20, starting at 2 p.m., Moscow time.
