Maria Karystianou, who represents the families of the 57 victims of last year's train accident in Tempe, central Greece, on Friday addressed an open letter to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, alleging interference with the judicial investigation into the tragedy.

The parents of victims of the 2023 Tempe railway disaster have filed a request in Parliament calling for the immunity from prosecution of two former transport ministers to be lifted.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday at the site of the railway crash in Tempe, central Greece, to honor the 57 individuals who lost their lives on February 28, 2023. Relatives and friends gathered to pay their respects, leaving flowers at the scene as they called for justice.

A former Thessaly regional governor, Kostas Agorastos, is to be prosecuted over charges of dereliction of duty and other misdemeanors in relation to works conducted at the site of the deadly Tempe train disaster, the region's prosecutor's office has announced.
