'Updating Customs Union will boost trade Turkey-EU trade ties'
Updating the 1995 Customs Union will improve the trade and economic relations between Turkey and the European Union, and will offer economic benefits for both parties, the Turkish trade minister said on June 15.
Turkish exports up 65.5% to hit $16.5 bln in May
Turkey's exports hit $16.5 billion in May 2021, up by 65.5% year-on-year, the country's trade minister announced on June 2.
"We achieved the second-highest-ever May figure," Mehmet Muş said in a news conference in the capital Ankara, citing preliminary export figures.

Polish president in Turkey for official visit
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will meet his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda on May 24 to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
Duda arrived in Ankara on May 23 and will meet with Erdoğan's on May 24. Trade Minister Mehmet Muş welcomed the Polish president upon his arrival.

Turkey seizes over 6.2 mln drug pills
Customs teams confiscated over a ton of Captagon drug pills at the İskenderun Port in southern Turkey, the biggest seizure of its kind, the country's trade minister said on May 16.
A total of 1,072 kilograms (2,000 pounds) of Captagon drugs - more than 6.2 million pills - were seized during search by customs officials of Hatay province from May 15-16, Mehmet Muş said on Twitter.

Turkish exports hit $18.8 bln in April: Minister
Managing to outpace the pre-pandemic levels, Turkish exports hit $18.8 billion this April, the country's trade minister announced on May 3, citing preliminary data.
"We achieved the highest ever April figure and also the second-highest monthly exports of all times," Mehmet Muş said in a news conference in the capital Ankara.

Turkey replaces trade minister, forms two new ministries
