Parthenon Sculptures: Unprecedented dynamics in favor of their return
For a few months now, the issue of the return of the Parthenon Sculptures has acquired a special dynamic. In recent months, the density of reports in the British media is perhaps the highest ever. UNESCO's proposal for direct bilateral talks between the British and Greek Ministries of Culture was accepted by the British government for the first time in the history of the Sculpture claim.
Acropolis director says ‘time to close’ Parthenon marbles row
The new director of the Acropolis Museum has called for an end to the long-running dispute for the return of the Parthenon marbles to Greece, noting that London's parliament could rule on the issue.
"It's time for the matter to be closed," Nikos Stampolidis told AFP in an interview.
UNESCO calls on UK to urgently review its decision on the return Parthenon Marbles
In a milestone move, UNESCO has issued a separate decision on the need for the sculptures to return to their home beyond the positive recommendations that it has issued for years.
The decision issued at the 22nd Session of UNESCO's Inter-Governmental Committee for Promoting the Return of Cultural Property asks the British government to urgently review its policy.

The ultra-popular UK percussion and dance troupe STOMP will perform at the Melina Mercouri Open-Air Theater in Vyronas for two nights on September 17 and 18. STOMP is known for creating musical narratives using common objects including brooms and trash can lids. In 2002, the group began performing at the Vaudeville Theater in London's West End.

Marinakis stresses unity after Piraeus Victorious’ Moralis elected mayor
Olympiacos FC leader Vangelis Marinakis stressed the need for unity among the citizens of Piraeus and underlined that there are no losers in the Piraeus mayoral race in which incumbent Yannis Moralis won a second term.
Marinakis was the City Councilman who won re-election on Moralis' Piraeus Victorious ticket with most votes of any candidate.
