An Ankara court on May 5 rejected an appeal by Wikipedia against a previous ruling to block access to the website in Turkey following an administrative measure.

The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) stated on April 29 that it had blocked access to Wikipedia, citing a law allowing it to ban access to websites deemed obscene or a threat to national security.

It is impossible to grant access to the world's largest encyclopedia, Wikipedia, unless Turkey's judicial decisions are implemented, the head of the country's telecommunications watchdog has said.

Turkey will cooperate with Japan on implementing cutting-edge 5G technology during President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an's two-day-visit to the country, officials have said.

According to information from Turkey's Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), a joint declaration has been signed between the agency and Japan's Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry.

Turkey did not cancel a planned 4G tender, but will make a 4.5G tender on Aug. 26, a high-level official from the Information and Communications Technologies Authority (BTK) has told Anadolu Agency.
