Some 100 warships have sailed and carried out an unprecedented procession on Istanbul's Bosphorus in the Turkish Navy's largest parade to mark the 100th anniversary of the foundation of modern Türkiye on Oct. 29.

Scores of Istanbulities flocked to the coastlines or the hills of the city, where they were able to witness the historic navy procession.

Nearly 1.2 million people visited Anıtkabir on Oct. 29, the mausoleum of modern Türkiye's founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, setting a new visitor record on the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, the Defense Ministry has announced.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has marked the centenary of the Turkish Republic on Oct. 29, declaring the dawn of what he calls the "Century of Türkiye."

Renowned national diver Şahika Ercümen, who holds dozens of world and national records, has performed a free dive in the country's tourism hub Antalya to mark the 100th anniversary of the republic.

Setting out from Konyaaltı Beach by boat, Ercümen embarked on a free dive, resurfacing with a banner displaying the message "The Republic of Türkiye is 100 years old."

As the Turkish Republic turned 100 on Oct. 29, millions of Turkish citizens enthusiastically participated in various commemorative events spanning from meters-long flag marches to captivating displays and colorful events across every corner of the nation to mark a landmark anniversary.

 The head of the European Union Delegation to Türkiye Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut has congratulated the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye in a special message conveyed to the Hürriyet Daily News.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his delegation marked the historic occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic by paying a visit to Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of modern Türkiye founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Numerous places that played a pivotal role in the inception of the republic a century ago, notably in the capital city of Ankara, are diligently preparing to unveil their historical treasures and engage with visitors on this momentous centenary.

The nation is commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic with enthusiasm, gratitude and profound pride, with numerous events, festivals and marches honoring both Türkiye's founding leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the century-old country since the beginning of the week of Oct. 29.

The Pakistan embassy in Ankara has hosted a special event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, bringing together Turkish dignitaries, diplomats and leaders from various sectors.

The event, held at the embassy premises on Oct. 27, was marked by a traditional Pakistani brunch and speeches emphasizing the deep-rooted bonds between the two nations.
