The Bulgarian Ministry of Finance projects that Bulgaria will satisfy the inflation criterion by the year's end, as per the ministry's models. Deputy Minister of Finance Metodi Metodiev highlighted this during the "Introduction of the Euro - Risks and Challenges: The Experience of Croatia" conference.

"The time for analysis and good intentions in the energy sector has expired. We are waiting for the results. We are monitoring what the government is doing to reduce the cost of electricity and gas and to have adequate compensation mechanisms for consumers and businesses.

Our country will not be able to get the entire agreed amount of Azerbaijani gas this year at a preferential price.

This was announced by the Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov before the Parliamentary Energy Committee.

The entire management of Bulgargaz has been replaced following a decision by the Bulgarian Energy Holding, BNR reports.

Lyudmil Yotsov has been elected executive director of the company - in place of Nikolay Pavlov, according to a protocol of BEH, published in the Commercial Register.

"Bulgargaz" suggests the price of natural gas to become BGN 80.28 / MWh from October 1. For September, the price approved by the regulator is BGN 69.40 / MWh. However, the company says that the price of blue fuel is expected to be about 20% lower than the average price on European gas exchanges.

In the application submitted to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (KEVR) on May 11, Bulgargaz requested a 13 percent increase in the price of natural gas, compared to prices in May, or BGN 42.54. (excluding access fees, transmission, excise duty and VAT costs). This became clear during today's discussion on the price of blue fuel in KEVR.

Bulgaria is starting to consume US liquefied gas, which is a first step towards diversifying supplies and reducing dependence on imports of Russian natural gas only. On Thursday evening, at the Greek LNG Revituse, the first tanker arrived with 90 million cubic meters of raw material for Bulgargaz, the unloading of which will start today,  June 1st.

For the first time in its history, Bulgargaz announces a competition for a non-Russia natural gas supplier. Nikolay Pavlov, the executive director of the company, announced today.

Bulgargaz and Bulgartransgaz are going to send next week their positions regarding the antitrust case of the European Commission against the Russian Company Gazprom, said Nikolay Pavlov, caretaker Minister of Energy, according to BNR.

The two companies have requested further details from EC regarding the proposals of Gazprom.

''The price of natural gas, which this country buys from Russia's Gazprom to be renegotiated each year, while for the first two years, this renegotiating to be made once each six months. '' This is the Bulgarian position in view of the discounts offered by the Russian giant, BNR reported.
