Hojs dismisses allegations of politicisation of police

Ljubljana – Appearing in a telvised current affairs show on Sunday, Interior Minister Aleš Hojs rejected allegations about the police organisation changes being an attempt to politicise the force. Hojs sees the new law as the first step towards a more professional police that would reduce any political impact, whereas the opposition maintains the opposite.

Compensation scheme proposed for adverse effects of vaccination

Ljubljana – The government has proposed a compensation scheme for those who have suffered serious health damage as a result of a Covid-19 vaccine. “The introduction of liability for damages is key to maintaining confidence in the vaccines and ensuring the effective implementation of the national vaccination programme,” Health Minister Poklukar said on Friday.

Govt to change colour-coded strategy with tier red kicking in Monday

Ljubljana – The government will overhaul the coronavirus exit strategy today to somewhat relax restrictions applying to each of the five-coloured stages. Stage red would kick in on Monday lifting night curfew, keeping schools and kindergartens open like before 1 April while not allowing public assembly.
