The State Audit Institution (DRI) will start auditing the financial reports of political parties at the beginning of June.

DRI President Radoslav Sretenovic made the announcement on Monday.

BELGRADE - The greatest irregularities in the audit of financial reports of public institutions in 2013 were recorded in public procurements, public sector revenue entries, as well as the expenditures for public sector employees' salaries, President of the State Audit Institution (DRI) Radoslav Sretenovic stated.

BELGRADE - Serbia's State Audit Institution (DRI) will have drawn up a program for audit of financial reports of political parties in Serbia at the beginning of December, and first such audits will be performed next year, DRI Auditor-General Radoslav Sretenovic said Thursday.

BELGRADE - The National Audit Office (DRI) has initiated the second audit of performance relating to the management of property owned by the Republic of Serbia.

Radoslav Sretenovic, chairman of the DRI, said that so far the audit has shown that the government does not have uniform records on property.

BELGRADE - A special team of at least six auditors will be tasked with controling how the parliamentary parties in Serbia are spending the money they receive from the state coffers, Belgrade-based daily Novosti reports in its Tuesday issue.

BELGRADE - The State Audit Institution (DRI) intends to increase the number of entities subject to audit and to broaden its scope, which will require more manpower, DRI Head Radoslav Sretenovic said on Thursday.

Radoslav Sretenovic, head of the State Audit Institution, DRI, said he had found out that  Serbian bureaucrats have no less than 26,922 official cars at their disposal.

"When we add in the public enterprises and the local governments, we get to 31,000 vehicles," Sretenovic said.

BELGRADE - The Strengthening Accountability Mechanism in Public Finance project amounting to USD 2.3 million will be implemented in Serbia in the next two years.

The main objectives of the program are prevention of the misuse of public funds and enhancement of transparency of the process.
