The funeral procession with the coffin of Queen Mother Helen - wife of King Carol II and mother of King Mihai I of Romania - arrived at Curtea de Arges, where the reburial service will take place on Saturday at the New Archdiocesan and Royal Cathedral.

Mother Queen Helen's funeral procession left on Friday from the Elisabeta Palace toward Curtea de Arges in the applause of those attending the event. Welcomed by dozens of persons, some of them holding tricolor flags, the funeral cortege arrived at the Elisabeta Palace around 12:00hrs.

A religious and military ceremony took place at the Otopeni International Airport for Queen Mother Helen, whose remains were flown in to Romania aboard an aircraft of the Romanian Air Force. Queen Helen died in Switzerland on November 29, 1982, when Romania was under a communist dictatorship. She was buried at the Boix-de-Vaud Cemetery in Lausanne.

Mother Queen Helen's remains were brought back to the country on Friday, landing at the Otopeni International Airport in an aircraft belonging to the Romanian Air Forces.

The Royal Family wishes a "national reconciliation", this being the objective King Mihai fought for, the Romanian Crown Custodian Margareta told AGERPRES in an interview. Prince Radu, in the same interview asserts that when the country is more divided, the Crown comes forth as "the single one that maintains a certain balance".

One of the most distinctive institutions of the Romanian state, AGERPRES, has a professional backstory closely related to the royal generations to this day, Prince Radu said on Thursday at an event dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Romania's oldest news agency held in the dining hall of the Bucharest Royal Palace.

Romanian Crown Custodian, Margareta, was proud to receive the Award for the most influential personality in Romania at the Forbes Woman Gala held at Bragadiru Palace on Wednesday night. "I am very proud, because here we are talking about values, principles - and this is somewhat missing in today's society - and about courage, because I feel courage here in a sense of community.

The Romanian Crown Custodian, Margareta, who is also the President of the Romanian Red Cross stated on Wednesday that she is proud to serve, alongside the thousands of volunteers within the Romanian Red Cross, the principles of this organization at its 142 years of activity.
