Turkish dissident journalist Can Dündar granted citizenship of Paris
Can Dündar, the former editor-in-chief of daily Cumhuriyet, was awarded honorary citizenship of Paris on Nov. 8.
Dündar, who moved to Germany as an appeal against his conviction for revealing state charges is pending, was awarded the honor at City Hall for "distinguished services" by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo.
Nine arrested in probe on daily Cumhuriyet
Nine people have been arrested in the "terrorism" investigation targeting Cumhuriyet, one of Turkey's oldest and most-respected newspapers.

Police make detentions, raid houses of Cumhuriyet journalist
Turkish police have detained the editor-in-chief of daily Cumhuriyet and at least four other journalists, the newspaper reported early on Oct. 31, while CNN Türk reported that at least 13 warrants have been issued for the newspaper's journalists and executives.
