The sequel to Tim Burton's 1988 "Beetlejuice" will premiere at this year's Venice Film Festival, bringing back actor Michael Keaton as the havoc-wrecking demon, organizers said July 2.

"Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" will kick off the glitzy festival running from August 28 through Sept. 7 on Venice's Lido, showing out of competition.

Twelve original hand-crafted costumes designed by Holly Waddington will be on display at Benaki Museum (1 Koumpari) from June 12 to September 29. Most would agree the 1988 film "Beetlejuice" is a classic. And two of the main creative forces behind the macabre and comedic movie - titular star Michael Keaton and visionary director Tim Burton - say they plan to stick closely to the iconic film as they tackle its long-awaited sequel.

Actor Willem Dafoe is set to receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee next month.

University officials announced Friday that Dafoe will receive the doctorate of arts on May 22. He's slated to speak at the school's two graduation ceremonies that day. He'll receive the degree during the second ceremony of the day.
