Downward trend in road accidents in Türkiye
As per the data of the General Directorate of Security, some 313,000 road accidents occurred in the first eight months of this year across Türkiye, where a total of 1.18 million accidents happened in 2021.
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), some 1.18 million accidents occurred on the country's roads last year, slightly down from 1.2 million accidents in 2018.

Aspendos Festival to open with ‘Aida’

Antalya expects 12 million tourists this year
The number of foreign tourists visiting the province of Antalya on the Mediterranean coast may reach 12 million this year, according to a trading group.
More than 9 million foreign holidaymakers arrived in the city by plane between January and Aug. 31, data from the provincial directorate of culture and tourism showed.

Historic bank’s vault to be demolished due to security concerns
Once the extraordinary measures against a robbery attempt had been revealed during the restoration of the Turkish Central Bank's branch in the southern province of Antalya, the head office has requested to demolish the vault as it could pose a risk to other branches.
Ancient sculpture pieces put together
Thousands of pieces that have been unearthed during the Myra and Andriake excavations in the southern province of Antalya's Demre district are being put together.
"This work we are doing is like digging in an office. Thousands of pieces are being completed like a big ancient puzzle," said the head of excavations Professor Nevzat Çevik.
