Crash in Turkey's west kills seven, five from same family

Seven Turkish people, five of them from the same family, have died in a car crash in the Aegean province of Ayd?n.

The seven, including five members of the Süngül family, died after their car veered off the road and plunged over a cliff in the Atyaylas? area of Ayd?n's Bozdo?an district at around 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 24.

At least 17 children among 26 migrants dead on Aegean

At least 26 migrants, including 17 children, have died while dozens remain missing after boats carrying migrants from Turkey to Greece sank in three deadly incidents in the Aegean Sea. 

The Greek Merchant Marine Ministry said 19 people were killed and 138 people were rescued near the Greek island of Kalymnos, AP reported.

At least 25 migrants have died while dozens remain missing after boats carrying migrants from Turkey to Greece sank in three deadly incidents in the Aegean Sea.

Four workers killed in roof collapse in Turkey's west

Four construction workers were killed on Oct. 14 when the roof of a hospital building belonging to a university being constructed in the Marmara province of Bal?kesir collapsed.

A total of six construction workers became trapped under debris at around 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 14, as the roof mold of the Bal?kesir University Faculty of Medicine?s additional building collapsed. 

Istanbul harbor project for Ro-Ro vessels draws angry reaction

A harbor planned to be constructed for roll-on, roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessels in western Istanbul, aiming to carry up to 3,500 carrier trucks per day, will have negative urban and environmental impacts, the head of a civil organization dealing with urban affairs in Istanbul's Beylikdüzü district has told the Radikal news website.

The Syrians were thought to be migrants on their way to an Aegean seaside town where they would begin an illegal voyage to a Greek island.

11 Syrian nationals have died when an overcrowded minibus they were travelling in hit a wall in the northwestern Turkish province of Bal?kesir, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Aug. 8 citing local officials.

According to reports, eleven people died and 29 others were injured in the accident near the Sapc? region.
