711 militants killed in southeastern Turkey since mid-December
Turkey has killed 711 militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the country's southeast since early December last year, the Turkish military has claimed amid the death of a specially trained Turkish commando in clashes with the militant group.
Turkey detains 23 ISIL suspects and 21 children on Syria border
Turkey has detained 23 suspected Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants along with 21 children who were trying to infiltrate Turkey from Syria, the Turkish army has said.
The suspects, whose nationalities were not disclosed, were captured on Jan. 23 as they tried to enter Elbeyli, a district in the southeastern province of Kilis.

The blast took place at 8.24 a.m. on Jan. 22 at the Nuriye Eser Primary School in Diyarbak?r's Ba?lar district during the distribution of report cards on the last school day of the first semester.
No grade reports for 81,000 students in under-curfew southeastern towns
More than 81,000 students in three southeastern Turkish towns will not be able get their half term grade reports on Jan. 22, as education has been suspended in the towns since Dec. 14, 2015.
Some 17.5 million students across Turkey will enter their 15-day-long semester break on Jan. 22, when they will receive their grade reports.
