A 20-year-old tourist’s attempt in Indonesia to take photos against a backdrop of spectacular waves at Kedung Tumpang beach ended tragically as one of them “swallowed” him up, leaving him still missing.

The tragic incident occurred last Sunday when Roni Josua Simanjuntak went to a beach with his friends.

The earthquake was with a magnitude of 6.1 and caused damage to homes and temples. According to local authorities, the earthquake triggered panic, but no tsunami warning was announced.

Model Chrissy Teigen, who is on holiday on the island with husband John Legend, told her 10.6million Twitter fans how she walked outside naked clutching her newborn baby Miles as the tremor hit.
