Greeks in Turkey on the verge of extinction
The current Greek population in Turkey is estimated at fewer than 2,000. But this population decline was not due to natural causes; the Greek community has become nearly extinct due to many state-sponsored attacks and pressure.
The largest attacks took place during the last years of the Ottoman Empire with pogroms and discrimination continuing until the present day.

Police apprehend suspected planner of Istanbul nightclub attack
Turkish police have apprehended one of the alleged planners of an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) attack on a famous nightclub at the heart of Istanbul.
The prosecutor's office has announced that a Turkish-origin French citizen, A.S., was caught in Istanbul on Feb. 12.
Istanbul nightclub attacker Masharipov arrested
An Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant who killed 39 people while wounding 65 others in a nightclub in Istanbul's Ortaköy district on Jan. 1, Abdulkadir Masharipov was arrested on Feb. 11, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Istanbul nightclub attacker referred to court with arrest demand
An Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant who killed 39 people while wounding 65 others in a nightclub in Istanbul's Ortaköy district on Jan. 1 was referred to court with the prosecutor demanding his arrest on Feb. 11, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Seven people were injured in an accident after a shuttle minibus lost control and crashed into a metrobus in the Küçükçekmece district of Istanbul on Feb. 5.
The accident occurred at 8:30 a.m. near a metrobus station in Küçükçekmece.
