Three Turkish districts nominated to be added to Cittaslow network
The Köyceğiz district of the southwestern province of Muğla, the Kemaliye district of the eastern Erzincan province and the Ahlat district of the southeastern province of Bitlis have been nominated to be added to a network of slow cities, Cittaslow.

Byzantine church found in Muğla's 'city of gladiators'
In the ancient city of Stratonikeia, located in the western province of Muğla's Yatağan district, an early Byzantine-era church and a mosaic floor dating back to 1,500 years have been unearthed. The ancient city has been known as the city of gladiators. The city's restoration has recently been completed and it is also home to an Ottoman-era mosque.
Holiday-goers rush to Saklıkent Canyon
Due to extreme heat, tourists holidaying in the western province of Muğla's Fethiye district are rushing to the Saklıkent Canyon, where the water is a cool 5 degrees. Officials say around 4,000 people visit the canyon every day.
