The significant archaeological site of Phaistos will acquire a new, modern appearance through a series of interventions by the Ministry of Culture, aimed at upgrading the visitor service infrastructure.

A 38-year-old climber fell to his death on Tuesday morning while attempting to cross a canyon in southern Crete.

The man, a Greek national, was among a group of climbers exploring Agiofarango when he fell onto the rocks below from a great height, a local news website reported. It was not clear what caused the fall.

The recent seismic activity in Corinth and on Crete prompted a meeting of the Scientific Committee for Seismic Risk Assessment of the Earthquake Planning and Protection Organization (OASP) at the suggestion of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Christos Stylianides.
